Course Information
Description A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized theory, skills and concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college and the employer.
Prerequisites Must have an overall 2.5/4.0 GPA.
Learning Outcomes PSLO ALPHA: Demonstrates comprehension of content-area.
PSLO 1: Prepares design elements for inclusion into a digital product.
PSLO 2: Creates original design elements for inclusion into portfolio.
PSLO 3: Describes current trends in graphic design.
PSLO 4: Demonstrates ethics and professionalism.
Core Objectives * Communication skills: Students will demonstrate effective written, oral and visual communication.
* Critical Thinking Skills: Students will engage in creative and/or innovative thinking, and/or inquiry, analysis, evaluation, synthesis of information, organizing concepts and constructing solutions.
* Teamwork: Students will demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others to support a shared purpose or goal and consider different points of view.
* Social Responsibility: Students will demonstrate intercultural competency and civic knowledge by engaging effectively in local, regional, national and/or global communities.
* Personal Responsibility: Students will demonstrate the ability to connect choices, actions and consequences to ethical decision-making.

Student will meet once a week and discuss project that were assigned and completed each week. Upon observation I will give a lecture or demo to student on work being produced.

Instructor Policies Having been granted an internship is a great honor and the student should understand that they represent not only themselves but Lamar State College Port Arthur. They should be on their best behavior at all times and strive to make an impression with your mentor. you never know it could lead to a permanent or a good reference on you resume and portfolio. Do your best. I believe in you!
Attendance Policy Student is required to work during scheduled times being absent or tardy could effect the End of Course (EOC) evaluation, resulting in a lower grade.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
